Our team at the Mobile Library Project has launched the Kasatech Project, an initiative aimed at providing opportunities for learners to leverage technology to learn different languages. The launch which happened on the 8th April, 2022 at the Kakumdo M/A Basic School in Cape Coast is the beginning of an implementing strategy to promote literacy in schools.
“Kasa” in the Ghanaian Akan local dialect means, language. In our quest to make learning of languages easier, interactive, fun and productive, we will be using devices such as RACHEL, Virtual Reality Headset (VRH), mobile phones, laptops and tablets in the teaching and learning process. We hope that learners will be able to communicate in any of these languages depending on their interest, French, Spanish, Russian, German and many others which we may introduce along the line depending on project outcomes.
However, in our first year of implementation, we hope to start with the French Language. We are excited to announce that the French teachers in the school have volunteered as facilitators of the club and have been trained for that purpose.
Our path to sustaining this project and its impact engulfs ensuring that all girls and boys have access to the quality early childhood development, care and pre-primary education so that they are ready for and able to realize the full potential of Kasatech. Our team will provide learning materials and establish Language clubs in rural societies to arouse and sustain enthusiasm towards Kasatech.
Our goals for the first year of implementation of Kasatech are
